I'm sure many of you have heard this song: www.youtube.com/watch?v=egxSBh… by Minato using Megurine Luka and Hatsune Miku from the Vocaloid series.

A large version of the picture can be seen here: s221.photobucket.com/albums/dd…

I am planning on doing Megurine Luka with Yona as my Miku for Fanime 2010, so I decided to make the headphones. ^^

Tutorial here: www.facebook.com/home.php#/alb…
Alternate version if you don't have Facebook and can't view my album:  s221.photobucket.com/albums/dd…

Materials: -craft foam 2mm or 3 mm thick. also get some 5 mm thick craft foam. (available at Michael's Arts and Crafts)
-wire cutters
-usb cord
-hot glue sticks and gun
-acrylic paint (black, and silver or gray)
-nail polish (turquoise and pink)
-4 round altoid cans. These are hard to find now...
-silver wire
-pink and blue and black lanyard string
-silver pleather (not really necessary)
-hole puncher (not really necessary too)
-colored binders
-black sharpies
-Mod Podge gloss
-sequins (if you want to bling it up)

Hopefully this helps those who want to know how I made them. ^^ I will not be taking commissions for these, because these headphones are a special one-time thing for me. =)
  • Mood: Wow!
  • Listening to: some korean pop song.
  • Eating: corn chips

You have the best tutorial/end result I have seen! I can't view the facebook one, though so it's a little hard to follow without words :( What did you make the wings out of?

Hm...I honestly can't really remember, since most of the materials were already on hand, but if I were to buy every material from a store...maybe around $25 and less.

yup! all over. Took only 1 coat, but if you want a smoother application with no brush marks, i suggest black spray paint.

how did you make the base (for the ear)?

the base is from an altoid can. you can also use an Ice breaker can. The base had a ring of craft foam glued on, and wire was glued on.
